Explain the 4 major cities that were cancelled then. Would they be overpowered and need constant nerf/buffing?
Hezz you crafty bastard. I assumed he was talking about the 4 classes as most of the focus in the WAR community has been on the classes and most haven't been too concerned about the cities.
This was the least worrisome thing to me and something I considered a positive. Anyone remember how many people hung out at TB, Darn, etc at launch? Everyone was at either IF or Ogrimor. This wasn't really a big deal in WoW because cities were really only a place for the AH and to just meander about. In WAR, cities are much much much more important as that is where end game PVE raiding is and the ultimate goal of both sides to conquer. By starting with 2, it will guarantee that all players will be involved in the war and there wont be any "Well, they are attacking here, so lets let them have it and we will all attack over there..". The additions of fortresses are also really awesome. It will be nice to see the other cities added eventually, but at first, this will actually keep the war very focused with definitive battle lines.
I've read a ton on this and the overwhelming reaction seems to be that the cities are the least impacting thing. Many people are upset that the 4 classes got cut (mind you there are still TWENTY classes as opposed to WOW's eight) but from what I've heard from beta testers, those classes needed to go. There are always people who have either uniformed or unrealistic expectations at a MMO launch but from what I have seen of the game, they won't be complaining come launch.
Do none of you remember WoW's launch? Ugh...it was horribad. I suspect WAR's will be about 100 times better.
Hezz: Do you think that they will be able to balance out 40k's mmo when it comes out? I have some concerns due to all the different races and how completely different they are to play...
